Bootle mark lodge no.478 certainly had an installation meeting to remember on Monday 28th October when the lodge was honoured by the presence of a quintet of Provincial Grand Masters.

Our own PGM R.W. Bro. Peter Connolly was present along with a 38 strong provincial team, also in attendance were R.W.Bro. David Ashbolt PGM. London, R.W.Bro.Revd. Trevor Walker PGM Lincolnshire, R.W.Bro. Martin Wilson, PGM Sussex and R.W.Bro. Peter Talbot, PGM North Wales, sadly R.W.Bro. Archie Torrance, PGM Kent was unable to attend at the last minute due to train cancellations at Euston due to slightly inclement weather conditions on the day!

Some 78 brethren squeezed into the lodge room at Litherland Masonic hall and the parade into lodge was a sight to behold with the 5 PGM’s, 20 Grand Officers (several of them being active rank) and the provincial team.
Bro. Paul Frederick Ashbolt was duly installed into the chair of Adoniram in an exemplary manner by W.Bros. Les King and Kenneth Meath.

The festive board was certainly enjoyed by all with fine food, good company and pleasant surroundings, the Chorley raffle raised a goodly sum of £329 part of which will be donated to the Litherland Masonic hall fund.
The worshipful master would like to thank all who attended on the evening and each and every guest made it a most memorable night not only for the WM but the lodge as a whole.

Bootle mark lodge meet on the 4th Mondays in Oct (installation),Feb and April and the 3rd Monday in December, any brethren interested in visiting or joining would be made most welcome and I’m sure if you can pin down the WM you may even get a free drink out of him!
